Translating Branch Sections

You can use the Robot to perform a precise translation on the sections of a branch.

Before you begin:
  • Activate an electrical branch geometry, and then select a branch in the work area.
  • From the Branch section of the action bar, click Immersive Branch Definition .

The Auto Routing Mode is activated and yellow bullets appear on route elements.

About Immersive Branch Definition
  1. On the context toolbar, click Transform Mode > Translate Branch .
In the 3D area, a red anchor is displayed on points that are fixed. Those points can be: device or equipment points, support points, branch points, and external points.

A branch section bounded by at least one fixed point cannot be translated. If you try to select a section having a fixed point, the pointer changes into .

  2. To modify the state of fixed points, do one of the following:
    • Click a red anchor, and then click Unfix/Fix to modify the state of a single fixed point.
Tip: You can also double-click the red anchor.

    • Click Unfix All on the context toolbar to modify the state of all fixed points in one go.

A green anchor is displayed on points that are unfixed, allowing the translation of a branch section.
  3. To translate a branch section:
    1. Click a section.

Tip: You can multiselect branch sections.

The Robot is snapped to your selection.
    2. Modify the orientation of the Robot.

For more information, see About the Robot Orientation.

    3. Move the Robot along one of its axis to translate the selected section.

Tip: You can use the context of your network to position the translated section at the intersection point between the section and a geometrical element. An offset editor also allows you to define a precise position after the translation.

For more information, see About the Context-based Routing Assistant.

  4. To validate your manipulations, click in the 3D area or press Enter.

Tip: You can also click Exit Translate Branch .

When an unfixed point is translated, its anchor route element (device, equipment, or support) is removed from the branch route.

To keep the shape of the branch, unfixed points are replaced by new route points.
