- In the
Branch Definition dialog box, click Segments Definition.
The
Segments Definition dialog box appears and displays several sections: - List of segments, followed by two commands: Add Branch Point and Remove Branch Point .
- Extremity Management: to define the ratio of the segment start and end points.
- Visualization Management: to reframe the view on the selected segment.
- Color: to edit the color of the segment.
- Flexibility: to modify the segment flexibility. The slider lets you set a value between 1 and 5 to define
individual segment stiffness. The lower the value, the stiffer the
segment.
- Profile Type: to manage segment profiles (Circle, Ellipse, Rectangle, Truncated Rectangle).
Notes:
- It is not possible to create flat cables with a Truncated Rectangle profile.
- When you create a branch with a Truncated Rectangle profile, the profile is oriented according to the orientation of the branch in the 3D area.
- Section Parameters: to enter a length, a width, or a diameter.
- Section Area: to specify section parameters for each profile.
- Detailed Profile Management: to manage further properties.
- In the list, select the segment you want to modify.
The name of the segment appears in the Name box. - Click Reframe on selection to reframe the work area on the selected segment.
- Change the segment shape and parameters:
For example:
- Set the Profile Type to elliptical.
Note:
The Section Parameters section changes according to the selected Profile Type .
- Enter 15mm for the Major Axis under Section Parameters.
The Segment Definition dialog box lets you manage
the Profile Type and Section Parameters
of segments having simple shapes defined by a single sketch.

Creating Multi-Profile Branches. Note:Section Parameters are unavailable if you
have defined different section shapes along the segment via Creating Multi-Profile Branches. - Click Apply to visualize your modifications, and then click OK to validate.
