Creating a Bill of Materials

You create a bill of materials (BOM) by adding either new parts or parts that already exist in the database. You can also copy a BOM structure from an existing part in the database and edit it to create a BOM. To add parts to the BOM, you must have connect, disconnect, and modify access. Otherwise, the page opens in view-only mode.

Required Access Roles:

  • App-specific: Design Engineer or Senior Design Engineer.
  • Baseline: Author or Leader.

Note: If you have either the Author or Leader role, you can synchronize Engineering BOM Management with ENOVIA Product Finder such that ENOVIA Product Finder will automatically update with any Bill of Materials that you create or update in Engineering BOM Management. Changes to level 1 parts (and their child parts) are synchronized to CATIA (or the Native app).
On premises only: To enable synchronization whenever you change part at other levels, contact your administrator.
