Using Capable Resources with Tracks for Items

You can manage the visualization and define the position of a capable resource for an item.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin: Open your session content, which must have an item. Capable resources must be defined on items.

Visualize the Capable Resource of a Track for Item

You can visualize and set the position of a capable resource of a track for item.

Select an item in the tree.
Note: Alternatively, you can identify a Manufacturing Assembly in the 3D (identified in the ASO).
From the Setup section of the action bar, click Visualize Capable Resource .
The Visualize Capable Resource dialog box appears listing the capable resources associated to the item.
Select a capable resource in the dialog box.
Activate the display of the selected resource.
The resource is displayed in the work area (at origin of the product implemented by the item). Mark up is displayed for the resource and the Robot is displayed on the resource.
Select another capable resource.

The resource, mark up and Robot are displayed.
Only the selected resource is displayed in standard mode, the other resources (with active markup) are displayed in transparent mode.
Set the resource position using the Robot.
Select another resource in the dialog box.
Reselect the resource whose the position was previously set using the Robot.
The capable resource is displayed at the previously defined position.
Deactivate the display of the selected resource.
The corresponding resource in no longer displayed in the work area.
Close the dialog box.
The capable resources are no longer displayed in the work area.

You can set the resource position using the Cumulative Snap command from the Track Authoring context toolbar.

Select an item in the tree.
Note: Alternatively, you can identify a Manufacturing Assembly in the 3D (identified in the ASO).
From the Setup section of the action bar, click Visualize Capable Resource .
The Visualize Capable Resource dialog box appears listing the capable resources associated to the item.
Select a capable resource in the dialog box.
Activate the display of the selected resource.
The resource is displayed in the work area (at origin of the product implemented by the item). Mark up is displayed for the resource and the Robot is displayed on the resource.
Drag and drop the Robot onto to a convenient location on the resource for easy manipulation.
The Robot can be relocated.
Set the resource position using the Robot.
The new Robot location can be used to set the resource position.
Select Cumulative Snap in the context toolbar.
Make sure Resource Selection is disabled in App Options.
The Cumulative Snap dialog box appears.
Select the first geometric feature (axis line) on the resource followed by the second geometric feature on the target (hole axis line).
The resource snaps to the second geometric feature.
Select the second geometric feature (plane) on the resource followed by the second geometric feature on the target (plane).
The resource snaps to the second geometric feature.
Close the dialog box.
The capable resources are no longer displayed in the work area.
