Removing a Shape

You can modify one or more features by removing a shape from it using the Remove Feature. The shape to be removed can be a prism, a sweep, a revolve, a thick surface or the shape of an external body or surface.


Before you begin: Open a 3D shape representation.

  1. From the Transform section of the action bar, click Remove Feature .
  2. Select the feature to be modified.
    If you select several features, the box displays the number of selected elements. To act on this selection, click to display the panel that allows you to:
    • View the selected elements
    • Remove any elements from the list.
  3. Select the shape definition to be removed.
    Remove features can have different shape definitions. The prism is the default shape. Refer Prism, Sweep, Revolve, Thick Surface or External Shape tasks.
  4. Select a profile or a surface for defining the sweep and a center curve.
  5. In the Fillet tab, select the required check boxes and specify the radii values.
    Important: You can select the Draft fillets check box from the Fillet tab. For more information, see draft fillets.
  6. Click Preview.
  7. Specify the Intersection radius value.
    Intersection radius provides the capability to create fillets at the intersections with the targets. Also it provides the ability to keep the wall thickness constant when modifying the wall creating feature that has set the constant wall option. In this case, the fillets are added at the intersections with the shellable prism.
