About Bundles

In 2022x, a new data model introduced a new object called 'bundle.' Bundles group consistent families of fastener instances and stackings. By creating and using bundles, you can now earlier define the fastened parts and assemblies without instantiating the exact fasteners parts.

Bundle Content

In 2022x, the relations and links between the fastener instances and the stacking parts in an assembly were changed. Typically, there is no longer an engineering connection (MCX) besides each fastener instance, but instead fastener instances sharing the same stacking parts are grouped under a product with a fastener bundle.

A bundle represents a consistent family of fastened parts. It consists of

a bundle reference
a bundle instance

A bundle reference aggregates:

1 to n bundle fastener connections
0 to n fastener instances

Broken Bundles

A broken bundle is a bundle that does not contain any bundle fastener connection. It groups fastener instances that do not have a valid stacking.

Creating Bundles

Properties

The bundle reference is created when instanciating the bundle. Here are the properties of a bundle:

The cardinality of a bundle, which represents the number of fastened parts, is identical for all bundle fastener connections.
A bundle cannot have have two connections with two different numbers of fastened parts.
The stacking of a bundle is ordered.
A bundle with stacking P1.1 and P2.1 in this order is strictly different from a bundle with inverse order stacking P2.1 and P1.1.
A bundle is once-instantiable. It means that there is always only one instance associated to a bundle reference.
