About the Tolerancing Schema

The following rules must be checked for the successful creation of the tolerancing schema:

• The annotation set belongs to a part and is not an assembly annotation set or a result annotation set.
• All the features are valid.
• There is no automatic selection default annotation in the annotation set.
• There is no capture that manages the display of geometrical sets and/or bodies.
• There is no or only one datum reference frame fully defined on geometrical elements that are not part of the user feature.
• The datum reference frame is not defined using a mix of geometrical elements from the user feature and external geometry of the user feature.
• The annotation set features that are linked to the geometry (except the datum features of the external datum reference frame) are applied only to the geometrical elements of the user feature and/or automatic 3D Tolerancing & Annotation construction geometry features.

The automatic creation of user feature or technological result user feature tolerances is only possible using the Tolerancing Advisor.

The User Feature Tolerances Creation dialog box appears when you select a user feature and click Tolerancing Advisor.

The User Feature Tolerances Creation dialog box has the following controls:

• Tolerancing Schema name: Lists all the available tolerancing schemas defined in the catalog for the selected user feature type.

  If the selected schema is not-up-to-date (may be modified after its creation) a warning message appears. In this case, you need to select another up-to-date schema.

• Views/Annotation Planes:
  • Use existing views: The existing views that have the same relative position with respect to the user feature geometry and are of same type as the tolerancing schema views. This view is used to create dimensions and annotations that correspond to the tolerancing schema and the display links of captures (created from the tolerancing schema) are rerouted on the found view.
  • Creating tolerancing schema views: New views are created of the same type and same position as that of the tolerancing schema views. This new view is used to create dimensions and annotations that correspond to the tolerancing schema and the display links of captures (created from the tolerancing schema) are rerouted on the found view.

    By default, this option is selected.

  The user feature containing the tolerancing schema is displayed in the 3D viewer area. You can pan, rotate and zoom it in the 3D viewer area.

• Select Datum Reference Frame: If no external datum reference frame has been utilized in the schema, the Select Datum Reference Frame area is not available.
