Comparing Logical Feature and EBOM Structures

You can compare the structures of model versions and logical features, or compare the structures of a logical feature or model version to an EBOM.

You can use the Compare Logical Features report to compare the logical feature structures of:

  • two logical features
  • a model version and a logical feature
  • two model versions (could be two revisions of the same model version)

You can use the Compare to EBOM report to compare the structures of:

  • a logical feature and the EBOM for a part
  • a model version and the EBOM for a part

The report uses color coding and visual cues to highlight differences. When you compare a model version revision to another model version revision, you can choose to synchronize the structures. Synchronization helps to reduce feature proliferation.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin: Do one of the following to select the first object to compare:
  1. View the stand-alone list of logical features. See Logical Features Page.
  2. Select the logical feature used as the basis for comparison.

Or:

  1. Open the required logical feature or model version. See Opening a Logical Feature or Opening a Model Version.
  2. Click Logical Structures in the navigation pane. See Logical View Tab on the Logical Structures Page.
  3. View the Logical View page tab.

When starting from the list of logical features for a logical feature or model version, that item is always the first object used for comparison. If you select an item on the page, that item is NOT used for the comparison.
