All Variant Management users can view the list of logical features.

  2. In the navigation pane, select Logical Features.

Columns

Column Name Description
Display Name The display name (a text name instead of number).
(Image) The primary image associated with the logical feature, if one exists.
Name The name of the logical feature. You can click on the hyperlinked name to open the Properties page for the logical feature, or right-click the hyperlinked name to access additional actions, such as adding the logical feature to a collection or finding related files.
Type The object type listed on that row.
Owner The owner of the logical feature.
Part Family The part family to which the logical feature belongs.
State The current state of the logical feature in its lifecycle.
Design Variants Indicates whether design variants exist. Click to open the Design Variants List page for the logical feature. See Design Variants List for a Logical Feature
Click to open the logical feature in a new window.
Variant/Option

The uncoupled variant and option effectivity expression defined for the logical feature.

You can edit the effectivity until the parent logical feature reaches the Released state. See Building or Editing an Effectivity Expression.

Note: This column can only have a value when effectivity has been uncoupled.
Effectivity

The coupled effectivity expression defined for the logical feature.

Note: This column can only have a value when effectivity has not been uncoupled.

Filters

Click on the toolbar to filter the page.

Filter Option Description
Owned Show only the logical features you own.
All Show all logical features that you have access to based on the organization you belong to and the design responsibility for the logical features.

Action Description For More Information
Create Logical Feature Creates a new logical feature. If a logical feature is selected first, the new feature becomes a child of the selected one. If the selected logical feature has Leaf Level=Yes, then you cannot add a child logical feature to it. Creating a Logical Feature
Delete Deletes the selected logical feature. Click OK to confirm. Any product configuration based on the logical feature is also deleted.

You cannot delete the logical feature if its parent is in a frozen state or if it is used in a compatibility rule.

If the logical feature is used in a pre-release product configuration, the EBOM is updated. If the logical feature is used in a released product configuration, you cannot delete it.
