Finding a Specific Dataset

You can search for a specific dataset among the list of datasets that appears in the Referential panel.

When you search for a specific string or value, the search happens in all the visible columns of the Referential panel. The results become highlighted. For example, you can perform a search using:

  • A word that you think or know is present in the name or description of the dataset.
  • A date that respects the format of the dates that appear in the Referential panel.
  • A number.
    Important: You cannot use hours or minutes to perform a search.
  • A username.


Before you begin:
  1. Open a referential. For more information, see Welcome Screen.
  2. Open the Referential panel. For more information, see Opening the Referential Panel.
  3. Add the columns that help you identify the datasets to the Referential panel. For example, if you want to search for a specific date or number, make sure that the relevant columns appear in the table. For more information, see Show More Columns and About the Referential Panel.

  1. From the Referential panel, click .
  2. Enter the string or value that identifies the dataset of interest.
  3. Optional: Select Match Case to make the search case-sensitive. That way, only the results matching the case you enter appear. For example, if you enter Bus, only the word Bus appears highlighted in the table. The word bus is not highlighted.
    Each matching occurrence in cells is highlighted in orange . A number appears on the right side of the string or value you enter:
    • The first number indicates on which occurrence you are.
    • The second number indicates the total number of occurrences found in all columns.
  4. Click or to navigate the results.
    Each time you click the or , the number that indicates on which occurrence you are updates and increases or decreases.
  5. Optional: Right-click the relevant dataset to manage it. For more information, see Managing the Datasets from the Referential Panel.
