Keyboard Shortcuts

You can use numerous keyboard shortcuts.

Important: The shortcuts depend on the key position and not on a character. Therefore, for some shortcuts the characters to be used may differ depending on the language-specific keyboard. The shortcuts in the tables below use US keyboard assignment. Deviating characters on other keyboards are indicated.

Key Modifiers Basic Functionality

Undo/Redo

You can use the key only to undo and redo your last actions.

Selection

Selection Modes


Key Modifier + Mouse Button	Action
Ctrl + click	Pick	Select objects or subobjects
Ctrl + click (keep pressed)	Trace	Trace selection of objects touched by mouse stroke.
Ctrl + middle-click (keep pressed)	Trap	Trap selection of objects touched by rectangular box.
Ctrl + right-click (keep pressed)	Trace/Trap	The method activated last is used.
Click in empty space	Clear	Clear current selection of all objects.
Ctrl + Alt + click	Mouse menu	Activate mouse menu to define object/subobject selection filter.

Selection Filters

You can select the filters temporarily by pressing the key only, or permanently by pressing Alt + key.

Note: You can deactivate the selection by keyboard shortcuts by clearing the option in the Select on Filter Key Press option in Me

> Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Styling > ICEM Design Experience > Selection Options

Using a shortcut enables the filters in the Sculpt panel without selecting the filtered element type by moving the pointer onto it, but only by clicking it.

Tip: You can switch between ICEM Surf and Catia view navigation mode with the Navigation Mode options in the ICEM Design Experience Options panel.

Alt + B	-	Displays the action pad temporarily.
F	-	Snaps to a surface boundary or curve extremity lying closest to the pick position.
G	-	Snaps to the next center point of a support element boundary when creating a point, a curve, or a patch on a support element.
H	-	Binds a position to a support surface boundary when creating a point, a curve, or a patch on a support surface.
I	-	Shows the selection table if Selection Table Behavior option On shortcut is clicked Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Styling > ICEM Design Experience > Selection Options
J	-	Relaunches the previous command.
N	-	Organize : creates a temporary list from the selected objects.
U	-	Curvature Analysis Modification
Alt + U	-	Toggle Update Mode .
X	-	In object mode	Toggles the robot XYZ Orientation and View Plane Align Orientation modes.
X	-	In subobject mode	Toggles the robot XYZ Orientation , View Plane Align Orientation , and Local Modification modes.
	-	Sculpt Controls: moves the selected control point stepwise in x, y, or z robot direction.
	-	Sculpt Controls: moves the selected control point stepwise in -x, -y, or -z robot direction.
