Creating Display Lists

You can create display lists to organize elements.


Before you begin: Open a 3DShape with geometric elements, a car model, for example.

  1. Perform the steps in Creating FramesCreating Frames.
  2. Set all frames to Active to ensure that the complete model is displayed.
  3. Select all elements belonging to the front part of the car model and click Create Display List with Selection in the Display Lists section.
    A new list "List2" including the selected elements is created.
  4. Click "List2" to display the list elements only.

  5. Double-click "List1" and enter a name, for example "Front".
  6. To display all elements, select "MASTER".
  7. Select all elements belonging to the middle part of the car model and create another display list "Middle".


  8. In the Frames section, set the "Glasses" frame to No Show .
    The "Glasses" frame elements belonging to the "Middle" display set hide.

  9. Optional: Select some elements of the active display list and click Create Temporary Display List or use the shortcut "N".
    A new display list is created with the selected elements included.

    If you select nothing, all elements of the parent display list are added to the temporary list.

  10. Optional: You can:
    • Click another display list or use the shortcut "N" to remove the temporary list.
    • Double-click the temporary list and enter a name to save it as a permanent display list.
