The 2D layout is integrated to the automatic update of the mechanical part. Hence, when a 2D layout needs an update, its respective mechanical part also needs an update. Therefore, when the mechanical part is updated using the Update All command, the 2D layout will be updated.
Before you begin:
Open a product representation containing a 2D layout with a front view.
Open the layout in the 2D window, alongside the 3D window.
Be sure that Manual update status computation is selected, see Update.
Be sure that Manual update is selected, see Update.
This modification affects the 3D shape and the 2D layout and they require an update.
This activates the Update All icon.
Important:
A 2D layout needs an update due to the external modifications such as:
Modification in the mechanical part (associative use-edge, dimension associative to 3D, etc.).
Modifications of a parameter value which is linked by a text with attribute link.
Therefore, when the 2D layout is updated by the Update All command, the 3D shape is also updated. Note that the internal modifications such as sheet creation, view creation or 2D geometry creation have no impact on the 2D layout update status. It is synchronized and the 2D layout is always up-to-date.
Therefore, when the 3D shape is updated by Update All command, the 2D layout is also updated.
Click Update All .
The Confirm PLM Update dialog box appears, indicating that during the update process, memory is optimized so that modifications that have no consequence on data update are ignored.
Click Yes in the dialog box.
Important:
You can select the Do not show this message again option.
In this case, the dialog box will be not displayed next time you execute the Update All .
The Update All command:
Updates all the 3D geometry associated to the current sheet, if necessary.
Updates all the views of the layout, on all sheets of the representation.
Once the update is complete, the Update All and the Update icons are both unavailable.
