Material Definition Access to Content

The 3DEXPERIENCE platform is a collaborative environment for managing your business processes based on defined responsibilities and content lifecycles that provide secure access to content.

This page discusses:

Content Categories

Depending on your access role, you can create and manage the following types of content with Material Definition.

Content Type Category
Materials Resource

The content you can access and the tasks you can execute depend on your access role. For more information, see 3DEXPERIENCE Platform: Content Categories.

Access Roles

Material Definition uses the 3DEXPERIENCE platform 3DSpace baseline access roles that your business administrator assigns to you. The table below describes the level of access for each role.

Access Role Description
Reader Has read access to any data and can create and modify Personal Management category data.
Contributor Can apply or remove materials, edit or delete applied materials. Can revise attributes of the material assignment, such as defining positions to orient textures.
Author Can apply materials and edit or delete applied materials. Can revise attributes of the material assignment, such as defining positions to orient textures.
Leader Can create and edit materials and material domains. Can create material vectors.

Your business administrator can change the default accesses to commands, content, and collaborative spaces. Companies can also implement customized roles and accesses. This guide describes the default behavior when describing access to content or commands.
