Opening a Material

You can access the information related to a material.

Required access roles:

  • Baseline: Author, Leader, Owner
  • App-specific: Compliance Administrator, Compliance Engineer, Senior Compliance Engineer

If you only have the Platform Contributor license and Review and Approve option with the Product Engineer license role, you only see basic information about the material and you cannot perform any actions or access any of the categories.

Note: You have the Platform Contributor license if you see Collaborative Business Innovator and Collaborative Industry Innovator in the list of My Roles when you open the Compass. The Review and Approve option cannot be selected as a role and does not show in any lists.

  1. Search for the required material. For more information, see About Searches.
  2. In the search results, click the name of the required Material. You can use the categories in the navigation pane to access information related to the Material.

    The tree view in the navigation pane shows the relationship of the current material to other materials and substances. You can click a material to view its properties. You can also expand/collapse the tree view and select whether to display Materials and Substances or Component Materials.
