Editing Manufacturing Substitutes

You can edit manufacturing substitutes in a BOM.

Before you begin: Search for and select a part to which a manufacturing responsibility has been assigned. See Part Properties.

  1. Click the Bill of Materials category.
  2. Click the Plant Preferences tab.
  3. From the page toolbar, click Edit All.
  4. Make changes to any of the following:

    ColumnDescription
    Component LocationThe location of the part in the BOM.
    Usage The part usage: Standard, Reference-Engineering and Reference-Manufacturing.
    Find Number This must be same as the find number of the part that the substitute part would replace.
    Quantity Enter the number of parts of the same kind to be added in the assembly. This must be same number as the part that the substitute part would replace.
    Reference Designator This must be same number as the part that the substitute part would replace.
    Substitute For The find number or the EBOM Uniqueness Identifier of the parts that the substitute parts would replace.
    1. Click .

      The Select Substitute For page opens where you can select the find numbers or the EBOM Uniqueness Identifier for the part that needs to be substituted.

    2. Click Done.

  5. Click Done.

The page is redisplayed, showing the changes for the context manufacturing substitute.
