Sharing Feed Reader

You can share Feed Reader widgets like any other widget. However, access to their content and edition mode depends on the situation. When a Feed Reader widget is in read-only mode, its Preferences menu is not available. This topic lists all situations and corresponding behaviors.

Important: In any case, users with whom you want to share a Feed Reader widget must:
  • Be on the same environment as you.
  • Be a member of the same platform as you.
  • Have been granted a role that gives them access to Feed Reader.

Situation Description

You share a Feed Reader widget that is configured with a public RSS feed, or you share a dashboard or tab that contains such a widget.

An editable copy of the Feed Reader widget is created.

Modifications you make to the configuration of the source widget are not applied to the copy.

Similarly, modifications made to the copy are not applied to the source widget.

You share with another user a Feed Reader widget that is configured with a 3DSwym RSS feed, or you share with another user a dashboard or tab that contains such a widget.

A copy of the Feed Reader widget is created on the user's dashboard but he or she cannot access the widget content because it is associated with your own 3DEXPERIENCE ID.

Tip: Add the user as a member of your dashboard.

You add a user to a synchronized dashboard and grant her or him Reader rights.

The user has access to all Feed Reader widgets, including widgets that are configured with a 3DSwym RSS feed, in read-only mode.

Modifications you make to the dashboard, including to Feed Reader widgets, are visible to the user.

You add a user to a synchronized dashboard and grant her or him Contributor or Owner rights.

The user has access to all Feed Reader and can change the preferences of any editable Feed Reader widgets, including widgets that are configured with a 3DSwym RSS feed.

Modifications you make to the dashboard, are visible to the user. Similarly, modifications he or she makes are visible to you.
