Creating Drafted Filleted Pads

You can create a pad while drafting its faces and filleting its edges. This command helps to speed up your design.

Note: Depending on your role, you may not have access to this functionality.


Before you begin: To perform this task, create a pad and a profile similar to the features below.

  1. Select the profile that you want to extrude.


  2. From the Model section of the action bar, click Drafted Filleted Pad .

    The Drafted Filleted Pad.x dialog box appears and the app previews the pad to be created.

  3. In the First Limit box, enter enter a value to define the length of the pad.
  4. In the Second Limit box, select the face of the pad on which the selected profile lies.

    Selecting a second limit is mandatory.



    Note: You can also use a plane to define the second limit.

  5. In the Draft Angle box, enter the angle value for the draft.
    Note: If you do not want to draft the faces, clear the corresponding check box.
  6. From the Neutral element list, select Second limit to define the neutral element .
  7. Select the respective check boxes and enter a radius value for each edge type to define the three fillets as per the requirement.

    • Lateral radius: defines the fillets on vertical edges.

    • Top radius: defines the round corner fillets.

    • Bottom radius: defines the fillets on the edges of the second limit.

    Notes:
    • If you do not want to fillet the particular edges, clear the corresponding check boxes.
    • If the support is not a solid object, only lateral radius fillet and first limit radius fillets are created.

If you look at the tree, you will note that you have created:

  • One pad
  • One draft
  • Three fillets.
