Removing or Deleting Sub Requirements

You can either remove or delete sub requirements from a parent requirement if you no longer need them. You remove sub requirements to remove the link between them and the parent requirement, but they remain in the database. You delete sub requirements to delete them completely from the database.

Required responsibilities:

  • Baseline: Leader (when the object is in the Frozen state) or Author

  1. From the requirements list, select the requirement that has links to the sub requirement that you want to remove or delete.
  2. On the requirement detail page, select the sub requirements that you want to either remove or delete.
  3. From the Actions menu, do one of the following:
    • Select Delete/Remove > Delete Selected Objects to delete the selected sub requirements or downstream requirements from the database.
    • Select Delete/Remove > Delete Selected Object and Children to delete the selected sub requirements and all of their children objects (such as sub requirements, parameters, test cases) from the database.
    • Select Delete/Remove > Detach from Structure to remove the selected sub requirements from the parent requirement's structure, but leave them in the database for future use.
  4. Click OK.
