Replacing 3D References

You can replace the Current 3D Reference with the Expected 3D Reference.

When you create a physical object, you instantiate a 3D reference. The Logical to Physical Assistant:

  • Indicates what is the 3D reference that is instantiated for the selected physical object.
  • Indicates, based on the implement link that exists between the selected physical object and the logical object, if the current 3D reference is the expected 3D reference.
If not, you can replace the 3D reference to comply with the expected instantiation.

Selecting 3D References
  1. In the Logical to Physical Assistant panel, select the rows containing the physical objects that you want to replace.

Note: Replace is available if you select a row in which the Expected 3D Reference and Current 3D Reference are different.

  2. Click Replace .

The Expected 3D Reference replaces the Current 3D Reference in the row. The implement links, position, and parent of the physical instance remain the same. Other connections, such as port connections, may change depending on the availability of ports for the Expected 3D Reference.

The row also reflects the change if you turn on the automatic synchronization preferences. For more information, see Activate the Automatic Synchronization of Rows.
