Installing Study Design and Tracking

You can install Study Design and Tracking on a 3DEXPERIENCE R2022x server. The installation process also automatically updates the underlying data model with any enhancements from an earlier version.

Before you begin: The following applications must be installed:
  • ENOVIA BioKnowledge Integration

The following licensed roles are required:

  • Collaborative Business Innovator
  • Collaborative Industry Innovator
  • Scientific Study Manager

These steps assume that a Live Collaboration Server is installed in /home/data/R2022x/server and you are using the Text User Interface (TUI) mode on Linux.

In the following section, MyServer refers to the full name of your server, for example: example.ux.dsone.3ds.com.

Key Concepts
  1. Open the SERVERHOME\scripts\mxEnv.sh file and enter the service location of Study Design and Tracking in X3DCSMA_StudyDTURL. For example:

    export X3DCSMA_StudyDTURL=https://MyServer/3DSpace

  2. Specify the installation directory, for example:

    /home/data/R2022x/server/Apps/StudyDT

    The default is /usr/DassaultSystemes/enoviaV6R2022x/BIOVIAStudyManager.

  3. Select the components you want to install, for example:

    Options are:

    • -1: All components
    • 0: None
    • 1: BIOVIA Study Design and Tracking Technical Product

For example, to install all components:

    -1

  4. Choose whether to install the embedded Server JRE.

A Server Java Runtime Environment or a Java Development Kit is required. You can use an already installed Server JRE or JDK. For example, to install the embedded Server JRE:

    1

  5. Choose the server installation directory, for example:

    /home/data/R2022x/server

    The default is /usr/DassaultSystemes/R2022x/3DSpace.

  6. Specify the URL of the Pipeline Pilot Server to which you want to connect Study Design and Tracking, for example:

    https://pipelinepilot.mydomain:9943

You must specify the fully-qualified domain name and the HTTPS port of the Pipeline Pilot Server. On completion, the installation stores this URL in a text file that you can edit later if required. For example, in /home/data/R2022x/server/apache-tomcat/webapps/3DSpace/webapps/BIOStabilityStudyWebView/assets/config/ppurl.txt

  7. Review the installation configuration and start the installation, for example:

Files will be installed in the following directory:
    /home/data/R2022x/server
    Selected Components:
BIOVIA Study Design and Tracking Technical Product

This install is for Testing or Demonstration purposes only (it uses an embedded JDK).
    The server installation directory: /home/data/R2022x/server
    Pipeline Pilot URL: https://pipelinepilot.mydomain:9943
    Enter selection (default: Install):

  8. Press Enter to install Study Design and Tracking.
  9. Run the War Utility and deploy the Web application on the application server.

See Deploying Web Apps in the Installing 3DEXPERIENCE Platform Services for the First Time section in the 3DEXPERIENCE User Assistance portal for further details.

  10. Start all 3DEXPERIENCE platform services.

Study Design and Tracking is installed and ready for use. If you upgraded from an earlier version, proceed to update your existing study data. For more information, see Upgrading Study Design and Tracking.
