Requesting Materials and Lots

You can request manufacture of a new lot of an existing material or a new material.

Request a New Lot of an Existing Material

  1. Select the Materials tab of a study being edited.
    Here, you can define the materials and their lots to test.
  2. For the Study Material, choose an existing material.
    The name of the selected material displays in the Study Material column.
  3. For the Manufacture Lot ID, select Request a new lot.

This automatically generates and displays a Manufacture Lot ID. When you have specified all the lots to manufacture, proceed to define the procedure. For more information, see Defining Inputs for Manufacturing a Lot.

Tip: Click to open the Summary Amount view, for each material this reports the amount required for each storage condition, test, and time point, as well as the total amount. For more information, see Summary Amount.

Request a New Material

  1. Select the Materials tab of a study being edited.
  2. For the Study Material, select Request a new material.
    This opens the information form for the new material.
  3. Select the Material Type.
  4. Optional: For a biological material, enter the Biological Name and Supplier.
  5. Optional: For a chemical material, enter the Trade Name, Supplier, Specific Gravity, and Physical State.
  6. Specify a Part Number.
  7. Click OK.
  8. To save your changes to the study, click Apply.

This displays the name of the material in the Study Material. This also automatically generates and displays a Manufacture Lot ID. You can click to edit the material definition. When you have specified all the lots to manufacture, proceed to define the procedures for their production. For more information, see Defining Inputs for Manufacturing a Lot.

Note: For manufactured lots, the Receipt Lot ID updates when the material is received.
