Choose Activities for Time Points

You can specify whether to perform each activity at each time point.

Select the  Test Design tab of a study where the matrix of time points and storage conditions is already designed and the activities are selected.
In the Activities section, for each combination of a time point and an activity, select or clear the check box.

Note: If you do not select any time points for an activity, this excludes it from the test design and activation of the study does not create any corresponding tasks.
Select or clear the check boxes in the row titles or below the table of combinations to change the selection of all check boxes in a row or column.
Hover the cursor over an activity and click  to remove it from the study.
Optional: Expand the Materials section at the top of the Test Design tab to display the available amounts of the lots and their calculated required amounts.
To save your changes to the study, click Apply.

This recalculates the amount of required material for each of your selected lots as you add or remove combinations of activities, time points, and storage conditions. If there is not enough material, the Materials heading above the test design has a warning icon . The lots with insufficient material have their excessive required amounts displayed in orange.

Confirm that there is sufficient material of each of the selected lots to perform the specified group of tests. If your tests require more material than a lot contains you can either select a larger lot, reduce the extra amounts, or reduce the scope of the test design. Then you can proceed to review your study. For more information, see Reviewing a Study.

Tip: Click  to open the Summary Amount view, for each material this reports the amount required for each storage condition, test, and time point, as well as the total amount. For more information, see Summary Amount.

Choose Activities for Storage Condition Time Points

You can choose to perform only a selection of activities for each combination of storage conditions and time point.

Select the  Test Design tab of a study where the matrix of time points and storage conditions is already designed and the activities are selected.
From the list, select the storage condition for which to specify a subset of activities.
This filters the Storage Conditions table.
For each activity, choose whether to perform it for the selected storage condition at each time point.
From the storage conditions list, select All.
This displays all storage conditions. For activities, the  icon indicates deselection for all storage conditions at each time point. For storage conditions, the  icon indicates deselection of some activities at each time point. When you clear the selection of some combinations, this displays the number of selections out of the total.
Optional: Expand the Materials section at the top of the Test Design tab to display the available amounts of the lots and their calculated required amounts.
To save your changes to the study, click Apply.

This updates the planned tests to exclude activities not selected for the combinations of time points and storage conditions that you edited. You can review the planned tests in the Summary Amount section of the Summary tab, see Study.

Edit Amounts for Activities

You can specify a custom amount of material (for all lots) to use for each activity.

For each activity, enter the value and select the unit for the custom amount to use for the current activity.
Optional: Expand the Materials section at the top of the Test Design tab to display the available amounts of the lots and their calculated required amounts.
To save your changes to the study, click Apply.

This updates the amount specified and automatically updates the total amount required for the lots in the study. For more information, see Amounts.
