Designing Tests

You can design the matrix of selected storage conditions and required time points at which to perform tests on the Test Design tab.

Add Time Points

You can specify the time points at which you want to perform tests for the storage conditions of the study.

  1. Select the Test Design tab of a study.
    A matrix displays, you can use this to define the time points at which to run tests on the requested storage conditions.
  2. In the Time Points section, click .
    This opens the Add Time Point dialog box.
  3. Define the value of the time period and its type.
  4. Click Add.
    The specified time point is added to the matrix and the Add Time Point dialog box remains open.
  5. Add any further required time points.
    This automatically arranges the time points in ascending order of duration.
  6. Click Close.

    Tip: Hover the cursor over a time point and click to delete it.

  7. Optional: Expand the Materials section at the top of the Test Design tab to display the available amounts of the lots and their calculated required amounts.
  8. To save your changes to the study, click Apply.

This defines the required time points for the study. For each combination of a time point and a group of storage conditions, a check box is checked by default to indicate that tests to perform for that combination.

Tip: Click to open the Summary Amount view, for each material this reports the amount required for each storage condition, test, and time point, as well as the total amount. For more information, see Summary Amount.

Choose Storage Condition Time Points

You can choose which storage conditions to investigate at each of the time points.

  1. For each combination of a time point and a group of storage conditions, select or clear the check box.

    Tip: Click to add storage conditions. For more information, see Defining Storage Conditions.

  2. Select or clear the check boxes in the row titles or below the table of combinations to change the selection of all check boxes in a row or column.

    Note: If you do not select any time points for a storage condition, this excludes it from the test design and activation of the study does not create any corresponding tasks.

  3. Optional: Expand the Materials section at the top of the Test Design tab to display the available amounts of the lots and their calculated required amounts.
  4. To save your changes to the study, click Apply.
  5. When you have specified all the storage conditions to investigate at each of the time points, proceed to define the tasks.

If you have already added activities, this recalculates the amount of required material of your selected lots as you add or remove combinations.

Specify Extra Amounts

You can specify additional amounts of material for each storage condition.

  1. For each storage condition, enter the value and select the unit for the additional amount to store for the current condition.
  2. Optional: Expand the Materials section at the top of the Test Design tab to display the available amounts of the lots and their calculated required amounts.
  3. To save your changes to the study, click Apply.

This updates the extra amount specified and automatically updates the total amount of each selected lot required for the study. For more information, see Amounts.
