About Exporting Simulation Results

You can export different simulation results in a number of ways. The table below compares the export alternatives.

Command or Option Exported Items Target Format Comment and Link to Documentation
Command Generate File from Results . Results data. Engineering Document in the Database, also available under Simulation result in the tree. CSV or Text file. Link
Option Store watchlist result in CSV document. Watchlists result data. Engineering Document in the Database, also available under Simulation result in the tree. CSV file. The file is updated for each simulation. The feature also works when using batches. Link
Command Export Scenarios and Results .
  • Information about the simulation and the model. See Note below.
  • Numerical results.
  • Simulation log.
Local storage (hard disk).
  • XML file (the information).
  • CSV file (the numerical results).
  • Text file (the simulation log).
Measure probes and interference probes are not exported. Link
Command Export Simulation Result . Raw results data. Local storage (hard disk). Matlab or SDF file. Link
Context command Export Selection as File from Variable Browser. Selected variables. Local storage (hard disk). CSV or SDF file. Only supported for Dymola behaviors or Dymola models. Link
Command Export Animation . Animation of a mechanism. Local storage (hard disk). Animation file. Link
Note: To export excitations, measure probes, interference probes, and camera probes you must use the command Export Scenarios and Results . The XML file contains these items.
