Displaying 3D Visualization Objects

You can display visualization objects such as 3D glyphs or Modelica shapes, when you are in edition mode, when you animate, or when you preview a simulation.

  1. If you are in edition mode, display the Scenario window. See Display a Scenario Window.
The Simulation Options dialog box appears along with the Scenario window.

If you animate or are in preview mode, you always have both windows. See Simulating in a Preview Mode and Replaying an Animation.

  2. If the Simulation Options dialog box is minimized, click on the icon to the right in the tab.
  3. In the Simulation Options dialog box, to display visualization objects, do the following:
    1. If your model contains 3D shapes from the Modelica Standard library select Display modelica shapes to see them displayed.

By default, this option is not selected.

    2. If your model contains 3D shapes from the CATIA Modelica library (for example glyphs) select Display catia library shapes to see them displayed.

By default, this option is selected.

Tip: If needed, you can use the Arrow length factor preference to set the scaling factor of arrow lengths to adapt the Modelica arrows produced by, for example, force and torque measurements to the scale of the model you visualize. To specify this option, select Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Systems Modeling and Execution > Dymola Behavior Modeling , the Results tab. For more information, see Native Apps Preferences Guide: Results.

For information about other options in the Simulation Options dialog box, see Managing Simulation Options Using the Simulation Options Dialog Box.
