Creating Plots Using Watchlists

You can create plots from watchlist results using Plot Numerical Results.

Tip: To get a live plot for a watchlist, you can activate the live plot option. See Creating Watchlists with or without Live Plots.

Before you begin:
To create a plot from a watchlist result, do the following:
  1. From the Scenario section of the action bar, click Plot Numerical Results .
  2. In the tree, expand the Results node, and select a watchlist result to plot.
    The following is the result:
    • All scalar variables in the watchlist are plotted in an immersive plot window.
    • A Plots Set node is created in the tree, with the resulting watchlist plot under it.
Note: This is an important difference comparted with using the live plot option for the watchlist. The plots set nodes make it possible to store different watchlist plots between simulations to be able to compare them. You display the plot for a node by right-clicking the node and selecting <node name> object > Definition.

Tips:
  • You can also double-click the watchlist result in the tree to get the plot.
  • You can display the origin of the signal, that is, the title of the corresponding simulation. See About XY Plot.
  • You can rename a plot. See Renaming Plots.
  • You can change the display unit for a curve. See Modifying Curve Options.
  • You can modify the variable used as the abscissa of the plot, see Changing the Abscissa.
  • You can negate a curve. See Negating Curves.
