Context: Whenever you delete workspaces and folders, you must also delete all of their contents. However, if you choose to unlink the files within the workspace or folder, the files remain on the server as global object whereas the workspaces and folders are permanently deleted.

  1. In Windows Explorer, navigate to the folders or workspaces you want to delete and select them.
  2. Right-click and click Delete.
  3. From the Confirm Multiple File Delete dialog box choose either:
    • To unlink the files within the selected workspace or folder, click Unlink the selected files from the parent folder and workspace.
    • To permanently delete the files within the selected workspace or folder, click Permanently delete the files and their corresponding 3DEXPERIENCE objects.

Both selections result in permanently deleting the selected workspace or folder.

Note: If you select only an empty workspace or folder, the system displays the Confirm File Delete dialog box.

  4. Under File Name, expand any nodes to see the objects that are selected to be deleted.

For example, if you have selected a workspace for deletion and it contains folders and files, there will be nodes for each folder and for each set of files.

  5. In the Accept column, check the folders and files to be deleted and clear the check boxes for folders and files you do not want to delete.

You must delete all files to delete the folders and workspaces that contain them

  6. Click Delete.
