Adding MBD Views in Drawing Sheets

You can add MBD view objects on a drawing sheet.

Creating Notes in Drawing Sheets

You can create notes on a 2D drawing sheet. You can use the notes to add a comment or text about the selected component.

Creating Sheet Format

You can add and modify sheet formats such as sheet size, border, title block, notes, tables etc. to the drawing sheets. This helps the drawings to appear more professional.

Updated Tree Structure

The tree structure in the Model Definition Manager Panel is updated to include clear hierarchy of elements, organization, and clarity. There are new labels and the active context is displayed in white background.

3D Views and 2D Views get Updated with Geometric Changes

3D Views and 2D views get automatically updated with any geometric changes in the product. All the annotations also get updated accordingly.

Creating Tables

You can add tables to 3D views and drawing sheets. These tables can be edited to modify its elements.

Printing 3D Views and 2D Drawings

You can print 3D views and 2D drawings of a model to a PDF. The PDF includes all associated geometry and annotations.

Share as 3DXML to 3DSwym Improvement

You can now specify the 3DXML file name using the new 3DXML file options menu on the Share File dialog box before sharing it on the 3DSwym community.
Benefits: This improvement is helpful for a general purpose and for the Makers project.

Keyboard Shortcuts Displayed in Tooltips

You can display the keyboard shortcut in the tooltip for most commands when you hover your mouse over the command.
Benefits: Instead of clicking the command in the action bar with the mouse pointer, you can enter the command using a key or combination of keys from the keyboard. Hover over the command to display the shortcut in the title (top) of the tooltip.

Accessing 2D Drawing Section

A new section, 2D Drawing is added to the action bar.
The 2D Drawing section provides a 2D environment to generate 2D drawings from the existing 3D views. You can create 3D MBD views and annotations and then create 2D drawings. You can create 2D Sheets and also switch from 3D view to 2D drawing mode and vice versa.
Benefits: You can generate 2D drawings from the existing 3D views.

You can print 3D views and 2D drawing of a model to a PDF. The PDF includes all associated geometry and annotations.

Printing 2D Drawing

You can access the MBD environment and 2D Drawing environment from their nodes in the tree. The context toolbar for 2D Drawing is also available from the tree.
Benefits: You can interact with a 2D environment to generate 2D drawings from the previously created 3D views in the tree.

Shortcut Rings

Shortcut rings are available for all the modeling dashboard apps.
Benefits: You can use shortcut rings for quick access to the commonly used commands.

Opening Components without Subcomponents

When you import or open a component that does not have any sub, the component displays as in the tree.
Benefits: You can now distinguish the components with subcomponents from the components without subcomponents in the tree.
