Importing Objects

You can import objects from OLB or XML to 3DEXPERIENCE.


Before you begin: Click 3DEXPERIENCE > Electronic Component Editor to open the Electronic Component Editor dialog box.

Opening the Electronic Component Editor
  1. Click Import from OLB or XML .
  2. In Windows Explorer, select the required symbols and click Open.
    The Import dialog box lists all the selected symbols.
  3. Click Footprints to select footprints to import.

    Note: If no footprints are selected, only footprints connected to the symbols are selected for import by default.

  4. In the Import dialog box, select the required symbols and footprints and click Import.

The selected symbols and footprints are imported with structure.

Notes:
  • If footprints that are not connected to any symbols are imported, they are not added to any structure and are listed in the Electronic Component Editor dialog box as individual entities.
  • Inclusion of STEP files in the imported structure depends on the OrCAD Preference settings. For more details, see 3DEXPERIENCE Preferences.
