Opening the Electronic Component Editor

You can create and edit information of electronic physical components, electronic symbols, 3D package, and footprints from the Electronic Component Editor dialog box.

In OrCAD, click 3DEXPERIENCE > Electronic Component Editor.
The Electronic Component Editor dialog box has the following options:
Options Description
Create Create a new electronic physical component (EPC). You can also create a symbol, package, or footprint and connect it to the EPC. For more details, see Creating and Editing Objects.
Open from 3DEXPERIENCE in workbench Opens search for supported types. Select an object to add the object to the structure. For more details, see Searching and Opening Objects from 3DEXPERIENCE.
Import to workbench Allows you to import all supported object types to the workbench.
Open Editor Opens the type-specific editor. For more details, see Creating and Editing Objects.
Lock Unlock for Edit Locks or unlocks the object in 3DEXPERIENCE to prevent multiple users modifying the same component.
Remove from workbench Removes the objects from the workbench.
Warning: This cannot be undone. If the objects are not saved in 3DEXPERIENCE, the unsaved objects are lost. If the objects are in 3DEXPERIENCE, a warning message is displayed to save the modifications to 3DEXPERIENCE before removing it from the local storage.
Save to 3DEXPERIENCE with options Save objects to 3DEXPERIENCE by specifying parameters in the Save dialog box. For more details, see Saving to 3DEXPERIENCE.
Save to 3DEXPERIENCE Save objects to 3DEXPERIENCE using the default options. Save dialog box is not displayed.
Set Enterprise Item number Set the Enterprise Item Number for an EPC. This option is not valid of other object types.
Refresh Details Refreshes the details shown.
Reload from 3DEXPERIENCE Reloads the selected structure from 3DEXPERIENCE. For more details, see Reloading from 3DEXPERIENCE
Replace with revision Replaces the selected object with another revision from 3DEXPERIENCE. For more details, see Replacing with Revision.
Change maturity Change the lifecycle maturity state of the selected objects. For more details, see Changing Maturity.
Show in 3DEXPERIENCE Opens the selected object in 3DEXPERIENCE.
Import from OLB or XML Allows you to import all supported object types to the workbench. For more details, see Importing Objects.
