When sharing content or when working with content shared with you, the role that you grant or that you are granted sets the write, read, and share permissions.

3DEXPERIENCE Drive

On all folders and files, whatever their share status is, you can:

  • Create comments
  • Edit and delete your own comments. Comments can be edited or deleted as follows:
    • Platform administrator. If they have access to the content.
    • Author and Owner of the comment.
  • Create and delete user-defined tags

Important: The owner of a content, either a file or a folder, is the owner of the parent folder and its children.

Dropbox

  • When a folder or file is shared with you, you cannot see it in your Dropbox immediately. You have to go to your Dropbox web account and accept the notification received for this folder or file to see it appear in 3DDrive. A shared file that you save this way in your Dropbox becomes your own file. The link with the source file is broken. The file is not seen as a shared file anymore, so you can perform any available action action on it.
  • If you share a folder, any action performed on this folder by other users will only be applicable to them. Any action performed on subfolders or files will be applicable to everyone.

Deleted content can be found in the Deleted Files folder of the Dropbox app.

Note: If you delete a shared folder containing files or folders, users with whom you shared the deleted folder will still have access to the shared content. Indeed, deleting shared content removes the shared content from the user's My Dropbox folder. However, the content is still available in the Dropbox app. To prevent anyone from accessing content that you do not want to share anymore, remove them from the list in the information pane. For more information, see Information Pane.
