App Toolbar

3DDrive provides commands for working with files and folders, setting specific views, and accessing content detailed information.

Preview

If the file extension is supported, opens a file's preview.. For more information, see Preview a File.

Note: 3DPlay Web App-compatible content is automatically opened in full-screen mode.

Open file location

Under the Recent Files node in the tree, opens the location where the selected file is stored.

Share

Shares content with users and user groups who are allowed to view, edit, or edit&share. See Share a Folder and Share a File.

Publish to 3DSwym

Publishes a file to one of your communities. See Publish to 3DSwym.

Move to...

Moves a folder or a file.

See Move Folders and Move Files.

Copy To...

Copies a file.

See Copy a File.

Edit Properties

Edits a file or a folder title.

If the edited content is in a 3DEXPERIENCE drive, you can edit its description.

Delete

Deletes a file or a folder.

Note: This command is also available in the Trash
Important: Deleting content stored in the trash removes it permanently. This action cannot be undone.

Remove

Removes the selected content from My Files.

Note: This command is only available on content added under this node using the Add to My Files command.

Uploads files to a folder.

Note: This command is also available by right-clicking anywhere in the right pane.

Note: If the My Files, any other child node or a folder on which you have edit rights is selected in the left pane, the Upload File command is replaced by this button .

Download

Downloads files from a folder.

Note: This command is also available by right-clicking anywhere in the right pane.

Revoke Access

Revokes access to content that has been shared with you

Note: This command is also available by right-clicking a file or a folder in the right pane.

Update

If a file is selected, updates the file.

Add to My Files

Adds the selected content from Shared with me to My Files.

This button is available if no content is selected in the right pane. It gives you access to the following:

Multi Selection
Note: This command is also available in the Trash and in the Shared with me folders.
  • Select All

Selects all the displayed content.

Note: Right-clicking anywhere outside the selected content clears the selection.

  • Deselect All

Clears the selected content.

View Applies the selected view.
Note: This command is also available in the Trash and in the Shared with me folders. .
  • List View
  • Thumbnail View
  • Tiles View

Each type of file has a specific thumbnail.

Sort
Note: This command is also available in the Trash and in the Shared with me folders.

Sorts your content by:

  • Title
    • Ascending
    • Descending
  • Modification Date
    • Ascending
    • Descending
  • Creation Date
    • Ascending
    • Descending
Information

Lets you access the following tabs:

  • Properties. Displays files and folders information.
    Important: This section lets you know who is the owner of the selected content. Content ownership is taken into account when a notification is sent based on someone interacting with your content.
  • History. If you have updated a file, it displays the file versions history. For more information, see Update a File, and Restore a File Version.
  • Accesses. Lets you share content with other users, and groups. Click Share to grant view or edit access to other users, and user groups.

  • Access by Link. Lets you:

    The user to whom you send the link can click it to access the content for thirty days. This period of time starts from the moment the link has been generated. If the thirty-days period expires, you will need to generate and share a new link.

    Important: The shared content is opened in a stand-alone web page from which content can only be viewed and downloaded.

  • Comments. Lets you like , unlike or comment content.

    Click Reply to answer someone's comment or reply. Comments are structured in two levels, the comment itself and the replies provided to it. If there are more than one reply to a comment, you can click Show replies to display the complete list. Click Hide replies to hide the list. If you reply to someone's reply, the @username of the person to whom you reply is automatically added to your own reply.

    If your document is a PDF file, you can annotate it and share a thumbnail of the annotated file as a comment. For more information, see 3D Modeling: 3DPlay Web App.

    Note: If the Someone comments or likes some content from my files notification setting is selected and you are the owner of the first-shared content, you will be notified.
Restore

Restores content from the trash to the place from which it was deleted. See Delete a Folder and Delete a File.
