Specifying Data Display in Model Definition

You can specify how data is displayed in various contexts in Model Definition.

This task shows you how to:

Select a Data View

You can select how the items are listed to make working with them easier.

  1. On the page toolbar, click the icon of the current view, then select a different one.

    Note: Not all views are available on all pages.

Configure the Data Grid View

You can configure the Data Grid View on a page to specify each column's visibility, width, order, pinned location, data sort order, and display density. Each Data Grid View can be configured independently of the others.

  1. To display the information in a data grid, click Data Grid View.
  2. Configure the data grid to match your working style and needs.

Display Custom Attributes

On a model version's Rules and Product Configuration tabs, you can display custom attributes as columns in the Data Grid View.

  1. Right-click in the header row in the Data Grid View anywhere except in the Title column.
  2. Select Custom Views.
  3. Optional: If you want to create a custom view instead of editing the default view, click Create New View and then enter a name in the View field.
  4. In the Visibility column, click next to the custom attributes that you want to add to the view.

The selected custom attributes now appear as a column in the tab.

Group Items in the Data Grid View

On any page that can list items in the Data Grid View, you can group the items by one of the following columns: Type, Maturity State, or Responsible.

  1. To display the information in a data grid, click Data Grid View.
  2. Click Group.

Filter Listed Items by Title

You can filter the items listed on a page by Title to reduce the number of items displayed, making it easier to locate specific items.

  1. On the page toolbar, click Search.

Sort Items in a View

You can sort the items in any view by the values in most object properties or by the values in any column in the Data Grid View except the Actions column and the Color column (if you have it displayed).
