Opening an Artwork Template

You can open an artwork template and view its properties. You can also view the objects associated with the artwork template.

Required access roles:

  • Baseline: Author, Leader, Owner
  • App-specific: Product Manager, Artwork Project Manager, Master Copy Author, Master Copy Approver, Local Copy Author, Local Copy Approver, Graphic Designer, Artwork Approver

From the Artwork Templates page, click the name of the required artwork template.
The artwork template opens. It displays the properties of the artwork template. You can use the categories in the navigation pane to view the information related to the artwork template.

Name of the artwork template Shows the details of the artwork template. Properties of an Artwork Template
Files Lists the files attached to the artwork template. From the page toolbar, you can perform the following actions:
  • Upload/Checkin: You can upload files to the artwork template.
  • Download: You can download the selected files from the artwork template.
  • Delete This Version: You can delete the version of the selected files from the artwork template.
  • Delete All Versions: You can delete all the versions of a selected file from the artwork template.

Lifecycle Lists details about the lifecycle and approvals for the artwork template.
Note: To promote an artwork template from Preliminary to Review state, ensure that a file is associated with the artwork template.

History Lists a log of all the actions that were performed on the artwork template. See Viewing History for Content in the 3DEXPERIENCE Basics User's Guide.
Revisions Shows all the revisions of the artwork template.

If the artwork template is in Release state, in the page toolbar, the following two commands are available:

  • Revise Without Files: Only artwork template is revised.
  • Revise With Files: Artwork template is revised with the attached file.

Important: When an artwork template is revised, the following changes take place:
  • If POA and the artwork file are in the Preliminary state, the revised artwork template is connected to the POA.
  • If POA is in the Artwork In Process state and the artwork file is in the Preliminary state, the revised artwork template is connected to the POA, and a notification is sent to the designer.
  • If POA and the artwork file are in the Review state,
    • The POA is demoted to the Artwork In Process state, and the artwork file is demoted to the Preliminary state.
    • The revised artwork template is connected to the POA.
    • A task deletion notification is sent to the Artwork Approver, and a notification is sent to the POA owners.
  • If POA and the artwork file are in the Release state, the revised artwork template is connected to the POA, and a notification is sent to the POA owners.
  • If POA is in the Release state and the artwork file is in the Preliminary state, the revised artwork template is connected to the POA, and a notification is sent to the POA owner.
  • If POA is in the Release state and the artwork file is in the Review state,
    • The artwork file is demoted to the Preliminary state.
    • The revised artwork template is connected to the POA.
    • A delete notification is sent to the Artwork File Approver.
    • A notification is sent to the Artwork File and POA owner.

When a product is revised, the artwork templates connected to the old revision of the product, are connected to the new revision of the product.

When POA is revised, the artwork templates are disconnected to the old revision of the POA and are connected to the new revision of the POA.
