Surface Design

The Surface Design section of the action bar provides commands for creating and modifying surfaces.

This page discusses:

Multi-Sections Sketches
Performs a parametric reconstruction by generating sketches of the section boundary of the concept shape.
See Creating Multi-Sections Sketches.

Apply Design Zone Specifications
Closes the duct by adding interface faces from the volume to optimize and prepares the new shape for validation.
See Applying Design Zone Specifications.
Create pipe
Creates a pipe from a flow analysis case.
See Creating a Pipe.
Match
Creates a surface that matches a surface to targets.
See Matching Surfaces.

Extrude
See Flyout for Creating Extrusion and Revolution Surfaces.

Fill
Creates a fill surface between boundary segments.
See Creating Fill Surfaces.
Multi-Sections Surfaces
See Flyout for Creating Surfaces.
Sweep
Creates a swept surface by sweeping out a profile in planes normal to a spine curve.
See Creating Swept Surfaces.

Offset
Creates a surface that is offset from a reference surface.
See Creating Offset Surfaces.

Boundary
Creates the boundary curve of a surface or the boundary point of a curve by selecting a surface edge or a surface.
See Creating Boundaries.

Projection
Creates geometry by projecting one or more elements onto a support.
See Creating Projections.
Intersection
Creates wireframe geometry by intersecting elements.
See Creating Intersections.
Surface Simplification
Simplifies the topology of adjacent surfaces under given thresholds to make a simple surface of one element.

Extract
See Flyout for Extracting Geometry.

Join
Assemble adjacent curves or surfaces to one element.
See Joining Curves or Surfaces.

Split
See Flyout for Splitting Geometry.
Extrapolate
Extrapolates a surface at one or several boundaries or a curve.
See Extrapolating Geometry.
Close Surface
Closes surfaces.
Geometrical Set
Inserts a geometrical set in the tree.

Flyout for Creating Extrusion and Revolution Surfaces

Extrude
Creates an extruded surface by extruding a profile along a given direction.
See Creating Extruded Surfaces.
Revolve
Creates a revolution surface by revolving a planar profile about an axis.
See Creating Revolved Surfaces.

Flyout for Creating Surfaces

Blend
Creates a blended surface between two wireframe elements.
See Creating Blended Surfaces.
Multi-Sections Surface
Creates a multi-section surface by sweeping one or more section curves along an automatically computed or user-defined spine.
See Working with Multi-Sections Surfaces.

Flyout for Extracting Geometry

Extract
Extracts a face or a surface edge.
See Extracting Elements.

Multiple Extract
Extracts sub-elements that are joined into one element.
See Extracting Sub-Elements.

Flyout for Splitting Geometry

Split
Splits a surface or wireframe element using a cutting element.
See Splitting Geometry.

Trim
Trims two or more surface or wireframe elements by cutting each other mutually.
See Trimming Geometry.
