Business Units Page

A business unit is an operating unit that is owned by a parent company or a subsidiary. Each business unit can have several departments and locations within the corporate structure.

Required access roles:

  • Baseline: Administrator, Owner
  • App-specific: Organization Manager, Company Representative, Advanced Quality Engineer, Buyer, Buyer Administrator, Supplier Development Manager, Supplier, Supplier Representative, Supplier Engineer

To access this page:

  1. Open the required parent organization. See Opening a Company, Subsidiary, or Business Unit.
  2. In the navigation pane, click Business Units.

Columns

Column Name Description
Name The Name of the business unit. You can click to view its Properties page. See Company, Subsidiary, Business Unit, and Department Properties.
Type The type or organization: Business Unit.
Phone The main business unit phone number, as included in the business unit definition.
Fax Main fax number or fax number of primary contact.
Web Site The URL of the business unit's website.
You can click to open the Properties page for the business unit in a new window.

Actions/Toolbar Commands

You must have the Administrator, Organization Manager, or Company Representative access role to perform these actions.

Action Description For More Information
Create New Adds a business unit. Creating Companies, Subsidiaries, Business Units, or Departments
Delete Deletes checked business units, click OK to confirm. --
Add Existing Shows only if Market Registration is used.

Adds a Business Unit to the Region.

Predefined Queries
Remove Shows only if the Market Registration is used.

Removes the selected Business Unit from the context Region; click OK to confirm.

Activate For inactive business units, changes state to active. --
Deactivate For active business units, changes state to inactive. --
