Entering the Dymola Behavior Modeling App

You can enter the Dymola Behavior Modeling app in several ways.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin: The Modelica Standard Library (MSL) and other standard libraries must be imported by your administrator. For possible libraries, see About Behavior Libraries.

Enter by the Compass

You can enter the app using the Compass.

From the Compass, click 3D Modeling Apps , expand 3D Modeling apps, and select Dymola Behavior.
You enter the Dymola Behavior Modeling app.
Note: Libraries that are defined to be auto-loaded by the command Me > Preferences are automatically loaded. See Selecting Favorite Libraries.

Enter by the Creation of a Library

You can enter the app using the Content command from the top bar.

  1. From the top bar, select Content.
    The New content dialog box is displayed.
  2. You can:
    • Create a Dymola Behavior Library.

      You enter the Dymola Behavior Modeling app.

      The new behavior library appears from the Package Browser.

    • Create a new function or logical component with a Dymola behavior;

      You enter the Functional & Logical Design app.

      The new function or logical component and its Dymola behavior representation appear from the RFLP tree.

      You can then switch from Dymola Behavior Modeling to Functional & Logical Design. See Switching from Dymola Behavior Modeling to Functional & Logical Design.

Enter by Functional & Logical Design

You can enter the Dymola Behavior Modelingapp from the Functional & Logical Design app.

  1. From the Functional & Logical Design app, insert a Dymola behavior or Context behavior in an existing function or logical component.

    Tip: You can also create a function or logical component with a Dymola behavior to enter the Functional & Logical Design app.

  2. To switch to the Dymola Behavior Modeling app, use one of the following methods:
    • In the tree, double-click MainModel node, or ContextModel node. The figure below is an example of a logical behavior.

    • From the 2D Graph, select the behavior icon (at the lower right) to display the name, then double-click the name.

    You enter the Dymola Behavior Modeling app.

    The new functional or logical behavior appears from the Package Browser.

Enter by the Open of an Existing Dymola Behavior Library

You can enter the app by opening an existing behavior library.

  1. In the Search field of the top bar, enter your search criteria. An example of a criteria is dbl:*m* to search for all existing behavior libraries containing "m" in the library names.

    Important:
    • dbl is used for Dymola behavior library.
    • The use of dbl:* to search for all Modelica libraries is not supported.

  2. Click Search .
    The Search Results panel is displayed.
  3. Double-click an item.
    You enter the Dymola Behavior Modeling app.

    The selected Dymola behavior library appears from the Package Browser.
