Using Part Planning

You can generate manufacturing parts and representations under the manufacturing assembly.

  1. From the Authoring section of the action bar, click Part Planning .

    The Part Planning panel appears.



    If required, click Settings for the Mode, Normal (the default), or Simplified.

    Actions - Update IPM;

    • Select the manufactured part/manufacturing assembly/fasten.
    • To generate features from part planning, select Update IPM in the settings options. By default it is not select.
    • Clicking OK, Part Planning performs and creates a manufacturing representation for fasten processes. If Update IPM is selected, then manufacturing features generate.

  2. Select the root manufacturing assembly.
  3. Click OK.
    Sub parts and manufacturing representations generate under the manufacturing assembly.
    Note: If you have used the Using Identical Part Management of Profiles, a manufacturing representation generates for the main manufactured part only: manufacturing representations for the sub manufactured parts do not generate.

    For curved stiffener, fabricated transforms of main and sub are pointing to the same flatten IPM. As an example, Fabricated_Profile2 and Fabricated_Profile3 are pointing to Flatten_IPM_Profile2.
