About the Arrange Junction Assistant

Preferences

Clicking the Preferences icon allows to define your options.

Creation Options


Options	Description
Target branch geometry	Indicates the electrical branch geometry in which the added branches are inserted. By default, the electrical branch geometry of the primary branch you select is entered.
Distance between junction and first adjacent point	Indicates the minimum length of every added branch. It represents the linear distance between the primary branch extremity and the first adjacent passing point of a secondary branch (in blue in our example). This minimum length does not correspond to the total length of the branch curve.

Display Options


Options	Description
Display primary branch on table	In the table, lists the primary branch as the first entry. If the option is selected, the primary branch is highlighted in a specific color to indicate that its attributes are read-only.
Fill profile representation with segment/branch color	In the viewer, fills the profile of the secondary branches with their color. If the option is cleared, only the edge of the profiles are displayed.

Arrangement Options

Description

Modify adjacent route point along with segment extremity

Updates the passing point adjacent to the extremity of a secondary branch according to modifications on the extremity.

If you move the secondary branch, the position of the passing point is updated according to the position of the branch extremity.

Note: The position is updated only if the passing point is a 3D point.

If you edit the profile of the secondary branch's extremity, the same profile is applied to the passing point.
Note: If the secondary branch is a multiprofile branch, only the profile of the first adjacent passing point is updated. The profiles of the following route elements are not modified.
If the option Set Uniform Area is selected for the multiprofile branch, the dimensions of the following profiles can be impacted.

Use business rule to arrange segments during creation

Arranges automatically the new secondary branches according to a business logic defined in the Compute X & Y Offset Values of Secondary Branches During Junction Arrangement opening ID.

Place created segments at (0,0) position

Positions the new secondary branches at the center of the primary branch extremity point.

By default, this option is selected.

Table

The table lists all the branches (primary and secondary) involved in the junction you are editing. Their attributes are organized in columns and they can be edited directly in the table.

To edit an attribute within the table, double-click a cell.
Notes:
- Read-only attributes are grey-out.
- The attributes of the primary branch are not editable.
To edit the same attribute for several branches in a row, select the branches and press Ctrl while double-clicking the attribute.
To customize the columns display, right-click a column header and select the attributes to display in the table.

The attributes displayed in the table are the following:


Attributes	Description
Branch Name	Required
X Offset	The x position in the junction.
Y Offset	The y position in the junction.
Resources	Unset if no resource from the Branch Definition Table is assigned. If a resource is assigned, the value of the Identifier attribute is displayed.
Separation Code	Optional A value displayed in green indicates that the separation code of the branch is inherited from the electrical branch geometry.
Build Mode	The branch's build mode (Slack, Length, CorneredPolyline, Bend, StraightBend).
Sub Type	Optional
Color	By default, branches are colored in gray.
Profile	When the profile is edited, the branch dimensions are updated accordingly but the area is kept.
Dimension 1	Corresponds to the Diameter if the branch has a Circle profile. Corresponds to the Major axis if the branch has an Ellipse profile. Corresponds to the Width if the branch has a Rectangle profile. Corresponds to the Major width if the branch has a Truncated profile.
Dimension 2	Unavailable if the branch has a Circle profile. Corresponds to the Minor axis if the branch has an Ellipse profile. Corresponds to the Height if the branch has a Rectangle profile. Corresponds to the Major Height if the branch has a Truncated profile.
Dimension 3	Unavailable if the branch has a Circle profile. Unavailable if the branch has an Ellipse profile. Unavailable if the branch has a Rectangle profile. Corresponds to the Minor width if the branch has a Truncated profile.
Dimension 4	Unavailable if the branch has a Circle profile. Unavailable if the branch has an Ellipse profile. Unavailable if the branch has a Rectangle profile. Corresponds to the Minor height if the branch has a Truncated profile.
Corner Position	Only set if the branch has a Truncated profile.
Area	Updated when a profile dimension is edited. When the area is edited, the branch dimensions are updated according to your Segment Profile options. For more information, see Segment Profile.
Angle	The angle rotation of the secondary branch. By default, set at 0 degrees.
Slack	When the build mode of the branch is in Slack, the Slack value is editable. Otherwise, the value is computed.
Length	Corresponds to the total length of the branch curve. When the build mode of the branch is in Length, the Length value is editable. Otherwise, the value is computed.
Bend Radius	Only set if the Bend Radius mode is selected.
Bend Radius Ratio	Only set if the Bend Radius Ratio mode is selected.

Commands

Four commands allows you to manage the creation, edition, and arrangement of the secondary branches.


Button	Description
	Adds one or multiple new branches to the junction. If the BranchTemplate is selected, a new junction is created and the specified number of branches is added. They have the attributes defined in the BranchTemplate. For more information, see Create an Arrangement. If an existing secondary branch is selected, the junction is edited and the specified number of branches is added. They have the same attributes as the selected branch. For more information, see Edit an Existing Arrangement.
	Copies the attributes of a secondary branch to one or several other secondary branches. After clicking the button, the Copy mode is activated. To deactivate the mode, click again.
	Deletes one or several secondary branches from a junction. The button is not available if the primary branch is selected in the table.
	Rearranges an existing arrangement according to a business logic defined in the Compute X & Y Offset Values of Secondary Branches During Junction Arrangement opening ID. For more information, see Arrange a Junction Automatically.

Viewer

The representation of the junction arrangement is displayed in the 3D area and in the panel viewer.

In this representation:

The profile of the primary branch is outlined in orange.
The profile of the secondary branches is outlined in dark blue. When a secondary branch is selected, the profile is outlined in light blue.
When the Fill profile representation with segment/branch color option is selected, the color of the secondary branches is displayed with a 50% transparency.

Edition of a Junction

The arrangement of the branches can be modified in the viewer by manipulating the handles of the Robot.

When the Fill profile representation with segment/branch color option is cleared, clicking the border of a profile displays the Robot on the selected branch.
When the Fill profile representation with segment/branch color option is selected, clicking inside a profile displays the Robot on the selected branch.
Multiselection is allowed in the viewer by pressing Ctrl while selecting the profiles. In this case, the manipulation is applied to all the selected branches.

Dragging the Robot on the x-axis and y-axis allows you to edit the relative position of a secondary branch.

Rotating the Robot allows you to modify the angle of a secondary branch.

Tip: You can manipulate the Robot in the 3D area and in the viewer. Both representations are updated simultaneously. The angle value and the x and y offset values are also updated in the table after your manipulations.

Rotating the axis system of the junction allows you to update the position of all the secondary branches according to the orientation of the primary branch.

During the manipulation, the Robot automatically snaps to the same angle as the axis system of the primary branch to help you edit the arrangement.

Important: Only the absolute position of the secondary branches is modified. Their relative position (x and y offset) and the rotation angle are kept.
