Close Commands Replaced with Remove Commands

The Close, Close All, and Remove from Recent commands have been renamed Remove andRemove All .
The following commands have been renamed:
Previous command and icon New command an icon
In the home page: Remove from Recent Remove
In the Root List pane: Close Remove
In the action bar: Close All Remove All
In the context toolbar: Close selected Remove
Benefits: The change of command and icon ensures consistency across dashboard apps and makes it easier to distinguish the Remove command, which removes objects from the view but does not delete them, from the Delete command, which permanently deletes objects.
For more information, see View Section 3D Navigate Home Page Context Toolbar

Customizing the 3D View

You can now customize the current view with the View Modes command.
You can also apply predefined appearances to your objects, and change the current ambience.

The following commands were removed from the action bar and are now available in the View Modes panel:

  • Perspective
  • Shading

Benefits: The customization commands are now available in the same panel, which improves the visibility.
For more information, see View Section Managing the View Modes

Saving a Screenshot

You can now take a screenshot of the content of the 3D viewer with the Save Screenshot command.
The screenshot is saved as a .png file, it only includes the content of the 3D viewer (the panels and the action bar are not included).
Benefits: You can take a screenshot directly from the app and save it as a .png file.
For more information, see Tools Section

Reframing on Filtered Objects

When you drag a filter in 3D Navigate, the viewer now reframes on the filtered geometry instead of the whole geometry.
The viewer reframes on the filtered geometry when you drop a filter, but not when you apply a filter using the Filter command.
Benefits: Reframing on the filtered geometry allows you to navigate the geometry with more efficiency.

Switching Apps

You can now transition from 3D Navigate to another widget to keep working on a product.
When working on a product in 3D Navigate, you can now open open the Compass, and select the widget you want to open your object in and keep working on your product in context. The new widget replaces 3D Navigate in the app. This mechanism is available with the following apps:
  • 3DPlay
  • 3D Markup
  • 3D Compose
  • 3D Annotation Insight
  • Issue 3D Review
  • Interference Simulation
  • Interference Check
  • Design Validation
  • Design Review
Note: Once you transitioned to another widget, you must open a new Product Explorer app to return to 3D Navigate.
Benefits: You can switch apps while keeping the working context and access different apps inside the same widget without creating a new one.

Displaying the Legend in the Layer Panel

In the Layer panel, you can now display the legend for the Points of Interest and the graphic properties layers.
Benefits: The legend gives you more information about the Points of Interest and the product graphic properties.
For more information, see Displaying Documents and Points of Interest

Adding Points of Interest

You can now add Points of Interest inside the existing layers.
These POIs allow multiselection.
Benefits: You can add external data and select different POIs at once.

Tenant Removed from Status Bar

The tenant is no longer displayed in the status bar. You can now see the tenant in the widget header, when you hover the icon.
Benefits: The display of the tenant in the header ensures consistency across widgets.
