Simulation Section

The Simulation section provides commands for creating tracks, creating assembly sequences, creating actions, and displaying the Gantt chart.

The commands listed below are available in a Simulation Context only unless stated otherwise.

New Track
Creates a new track.
  • Select a context.
  • Modify the moving objects in the Moving Objects panel.
  • Add, modify, or delete T-Points, then validate the track.
See Recording a Track.
New Kinematic Track
Creates a new kinematic track.
  • Select a product or a resource or an operation, then select a mechanism and click Next.
  • Manipulate the mechanism and record T-Points.
  • Click OK to validate.
See Creating a Kinematic Track.
Explode
Explodes the selected assemblies. This command is available in both Simulation and PPR Contexts.
  • Set the Depth and Type and apply to the assembly.
  • The Scroll Explode field displays the progression of the operation.
See Exploding an Assembly.
New Assembly Sequence
Creates a new assembly sequence.
  • Select the command to create a new Assembly Sequence.
  • Edit the created sequence to add existing activities and to sequence them as required.
See Creating an Assembly Sequence.
New Color Action
Changes the color or transparency of objects in a simulation.
Click New Color Action. In the dialog box, set the color and transparency. The action appears in the Excitation panel.
See Creating a Color Action.
New Visibility Action
Changes the visibility of objects in a simulation.
Click New Visibility Action. In the dialog box, set the visibility of the object (for example, hide a part that you no longer want the simulation to focus upon). You can set a duration for the visibility action. Each visibility action is saved as an excitation.
See Creating a Visibility Action.
New Text Action
Adds or removes text from simulations. You can add text to an existing text panels or add new text panels.
Click New Text Action. In the dialog box, specify what text should be added and under what circumstances. Modify the format of the text and the text panel, then preview the text. The text appears when you run the simulation.
See Creating a Text Action.
New Viewpoint Action
Creates an animated series of viewpoints.
In the work area, use the Robot to create the first viewpoint of the content. Click New Viewpoint Action, and in the dialog box, click Insert. Continue modifying the viewpoint with the Robot, and clicking Insert until you have the animated sequence you want.
See Animating a Sequence of Viewpoints.
Show Gantt Chart
Diplays the System-Operation-Track Gantt chart. This command is available in both Simulation and PPR Contexts.
Use the System-Operation-Track Gantt chart to:
  • Create tracks under operations.
  • Modify the track using track operators.
  • Modify track duration.
  • Create/modify or delete product flow constraints.
  • Simulate the tracks underneath operations that are displayed in the Gantt chart.
See Accessing and Using the System-Operation-Track Gantt Chart.
PPR Spreadsheet Editor
Starts the PPR Spreadsheet Editor.
Lets you browse and edit the planning and simulation data in a spreadsheet view.
See Using the Spreadsheet.
