Material Calibration Access to Content

The 3DEXPERIENCE platform is a collaborative environment for managing your business processes based on defined responsibilities and content lifecycles that provide secure access to content.

This page discusses:

Content Categories

The simulation data used by the Material Calibration app for the calibration is in the Evaluation category.

If you modify the content of the simulation domain for a material, these changes are in the Authoring category.

The content you can access and the tasks you can execute depend on your access role. For more information, see 3DEXPERIENCE Platform: Content Categories.

Access Roles

Material Calibration uses the 3DEXPERIENCE platform 3DSpace baseline access roles that your business administrator assigns to you. The table below describes the level of access for each role. The Physics Simulation apps use the following business roles:

Access Role Description
Reader Has read access to any data and can create and modify Personal Management category data.
Contributor Has access to all authoring commands.

Your business administrator can change the default accesses to commands, content, and collaborative spaces. Companies can also implement customized roles and accesses. This guide describes the default behavior when describing access to content or commands. For more information, see 3DEXPERIENCE Platform: Responsibilities.

Materials and material domains can be created only by users with the role of Leader or higher. Therefore, a user with the role of Contributor working in the Physics Simulation apps cannot create a new material definition for use in a simulation. If a Leader creates the material definition, the Contributor can apply that material to a product in the context of a simulation in a Physics Simulation app. If the product being simulated is in the FROZEN lifecycle state, all users are prevented from using Physics Simulation app commands that modify the product definition. These commands include applying or editing materials, as well as applying or editing connections.
