Manufacturing Responsibility

Manufacturing responsibility represents a plant responsible for manufacturing the context assembly. The Manufacturing Responsibility page lists all the associated plants for a part.

  • You can add Manufacturing responsibility to a part in all states.
  • You can edit Manufacturing responsibility only when the status of the manufacturing responsibility is “Pending.”
  1. Open the required part. See About Searches.
  2. In the Manufacturing Details category, click the Manufacturing Responsibility tab.
  3. In the View list, select Current to see the current part manufacturing responsibility sequences.
  4. In the Revisions list, select All to see the all part revisions along with their manufacturing responsibility sequences. This option disables the Actions menu and removes the Edit All command.
  5. Click Filter to update the manufacturing responsibility list.

Fields

FieldDescription
NameThe name of the part or plant. Click a highlighted name in this column to see the Properties page of the item, or click at the end of the row to view the Properties page in a new browser window.
TypeThe item type: part or plant.
Mfg Change The name of the MCO created to implement the change in manufacturing responsibility for the plant.
SequenceThe sequence of the manufacturing responsibility assignment. Sequence tracks changes in the manufacturing responsibility assignment of a plant for a part.
StatusThe release status of the manufacturing responsibility assignment: Current, Pending, or History.
Target Start DateIntended start date for the effectivity of the part in the manufacturing BOM.
ChangeThe change object that effects in this manufacturing responsibility relationship.
Change StatusThe current state of the change object in its lifecycle.
ERP StatusSpecifies if the plant is active, inactive, or unassigned. A lead plant cannot be made inactive.
Lead PlantSpecifies TRUE if the plant is a lead plant. Lead plant assignment is optional; if used, there can be only one lead plant for a part.
Make/BuyShows the make/buy code for the part in the plant: Make (in-house services) or Buy (services provided from outside sources). This is a default value based on the Design/Purchase selection. This is not editable if the Design/Purchase value is "Purchase".

Create New Manufacturing ResponsibilityTo create a manufacturing responsibility for the part.
Note: This option applies only to plants that have an MCO Coordinator defined as the lead role.
Assigning Manufacturing Responsibility
Change Manufacturing ResponsibilityTo activate or inactivate the part for a plant or to set a plant as the lead plant or a parallel plant for the part. This option is available only in edit mode and only for plants whose status is "Current." When you change the manufacturing responsibility for a part, the change is defined for the plant by creating an MECO or CA. When the change object is released, it will create an MCO and a corresponding pending manufacturing responsibility to implement the change to the plant.Changing Manufacturing Responsibility
Delete Manufacturing ResponsibilityRemoves the selected plant from the manufacturing responsibility connection. Only plants with Pending status can be removed.
UndoSelect one of the plants and click Undo to remove the duplicate plant.
