Transform Section

The Transform section of the action bar provides commands for transforming and duplicating the geometry.

This page discusses:

Rectangular pattern
Creates multiple instances of a object, in a rectangular pattern.
  • Select the object to be replicated.
  • Select the direction and enter the parameters such as instance(s), length, and spacing, to configure the pattern.
See Flyout for Rectangular Pattern.

Mirror
Mirrors a body or a list of features using symmetry of a face or a plane.
See Creating Mirror Features.

Translation
Translates a body along a vector.
  • Select the body to be translated.
  • Enter the distance and the direction to define the translation vector.
See Flyout for Translation.

AxisToAxis
Transforms an element from one axis to another
See Generative Shape Design User's Guide: Performing Operations on Shape Geometry: Transforming Geometry: Transforming Elements from an Axis to Another.

Scaling
Resizes the geometry to the specified dimensions.
  • Select the body to be scaled.
  • Select a reference element located on the body.
  • Enter the scaling ratio.
See Creating Scalings.

Affinity
Translates the body according to the ratio values of the co-ordinates.
  • Select the origin, XY plane and the X axis for the new axis system.
  • Enter the X, Y and Z ratios.
See Transforming Geometry by Affinity.

Split
Splits a body using a plane, face or surface.
See Creating Splits.

Flyout for Rectangular Pattern

Rectangular pattern
Creates multiple instances of a object, in a rectangular pattern.
  • Select the object to be replicated.
  • Select the direction and enter the parameters such as instance(s), length, and spacing, to configure the pattern.
See Creating Rectangular Patterns.

Circular Pattern
Creates multiple instances of an object, in a circular pattern.
  • Select the object to be replicated.
  • Enter the parameters such as instance(s), total angle, and angular spacing, to configure the pattern.
See Creating Circular Patterns.

User Pattern
Creates multiple instances of a feature, at specified positions.
See Creating User Patterns.

Flyout for Translation

Translation
Translates a body along a vector.
  • Select the body to be translated.
  • Enter the distance and the direction to define the translation vector.
See Creating Translations.

Rotation
Rotates the geometry about an axis.
Select the rotation axis and enter the angle.
See Creating Rotations.

Symmetry
Transforms a geometry symmetrically about a reference.
Select a point, a line or a plane as the reference element.
See Creating Symmetries.
