The primary area of the Edit section provides commands for authoring parts and products.

This page discusses:

Home
Returns to the home page.

Edit Mode
Activates or deactivates the edition mode. When disabled, the authoring commands are grayed out.
Direct manipulation using drag and drop operations is also blocked.

Note: The Edit Mode is activated by default. Each time you instantiate a new widget, the Edit Mode is also activated by default.

See Flyout for Creating an Object.

Insert Existing

This command is compatible with Change Action (including with configuration).

Tips:
  • You can also use the drag and drop to insert existing objects. For more information, see Moving Objects with Drag and Drop.
  • To remove an object from the structure, you can right-click the object and select Detach . For more information, see Context Menus.

This command is compatible with Change Action (including with configuration).
Edit Properties

You can edit the properties of the object from the widget.

The available tabs depend on the app the command is launched from, and the type of object that is selected.

For more information, see Properties and Information.

Set Enterprise Item Number
Set Enterprise Item Number for enterprise parts.
Select one or several products to set their part number. A part number is an identifier of a particular part design used in a particular industry. Its purpose is to simplify reference to that part. A part number unambiguously identifies a part design within a single corporation, and sometimes across several corporations.
Notes:
  • This command supports multiselection.
  • If the command fails for one object, the command fails for all selected objects.
  • When you execute the Set Enterprise Item Number command, the specified value is updated on the object in the 3DEXPERIENCE server.
  • The column Enterprise Item Number is also updated with the new Enterprise Item Number value and you can also see this information by invoking the Properties.
For more information, see Rules for Assigning Enterprise Item Numbers (EIN).
Copy

Then, select another object and use the Paste command to insert the copied object under it.

You can also use drag and drop, depending on your widget preferences.

See Moving Objects with Drag and Drop.
