Context Menus

Context menus provide convenient access to commands. To see a menu, right-click an object or item, or click the icon on the corresponding line.

Contextual Commands on Objects

Open With

Opens the selected object in another app or CAD.

Collapse / Expand Thumbnails
Collapses / expands a selected thumbnail (graph view only).
Show / Hide in 3D

Displays or hides objects in the 3D view.

Notes:
  • If multiple objects are selected, the actions are based on the Hide/Show status of the majority of the objects.
  • When you refresh the browser, the hide/show status is lost.

Focus On
For an object selected in the 3D, Focus On reframes and focuses on the object in the 2D.

For an object selected in the 2D, Focus On reframes and focuses on the object in the 3D

Notes: You can select several objects. In this case, a selection navigator appears at the top of the 2D or 3D viewer and enables you to navigate from one selected object to another.

The 2D and/or 3D is reframed based on the selected object.

Find
Finds objects in the tree that contain the specified string of characters.

Expand All

By default, the Expand All command is displayed at first level. Once you click another command, the last command launched is displayed at the first level.

Copy
Copies the selected objects to the clipboard.
Paste
Pastes the selected objects from the clipboard.
Edit Attribute
Allows you to edit the attributes (title and description) of the selected object.

Tip: To edit the title and the description, you can also double-click the cell you want to edit.

Edit Attribute
Allows you to edit the attributes of the selected object, such as the title and the description.
Insert New Product

By default, the Insert New Product command is displayed at first level. Once you click another command, the last command launched is displayed at the first level.

Note: These commands are available only if the selected object allows replacing objects.

Insert Existing
Adds an existing product, part or representation inside the structure.
Select one or several products as parent and then, through a search, select one of the following 3DEXPERIENCE objects to be inserted: product, part, shape or drawing.

This command is compatible with Change Action (including with configuration).

Tips:
  • You can also use the drag and drop to insert existing objects. For more information, see Moving Objects with Drag and Drop.
  • To remove an object from the structure, you can right-click the object and select Detach . For more information, see Context Menus.

Replace by Existing

By default, the Replace by Existing command is displayed at first level. Once you click another command, the last command launched is displayed at the first level.

Note: These commands are available only if the selected object allows replacing objects.

Set Enterprise Item Number
Sets the Enterprise Item Number for enterprise parts.
Detach
Detaches the selected objects from the structure.

Note: This action is not available if you select a root object. To remove a root object, click in the root's tile in the left navigation pane.

Edit Configuration Context
Adds or removes a model as a configuration context.

Evolution Effectivity

Copy Link
Copies the link to the selected object to your clipboard so that you can share it with others.

Notes:
  • If the user you share the object with is missing the app license or context, the app is not launched.
  • If the user you share the object with is not granted permission to access the object, an error is displayed.
  • If you select an object below the root, only the object is selected, not the object in context of theroot.
  • If a filter is applied on the root of the object that is copied, the filter is not copied.

Edit Properties
Accesses the properties of a selected object.

Remove
Removes the selected object from the view.

Flyout for Expanding Objects

Theses commands allow you to expand or collapse a tree.

Expand All
Expands all levels of the tree below the selected node.

Parent nodes containing only one item of type 3DShape are collapsed. You can expand these nodes manually to display the 3DShape.

Notes:

If you expand a large structure, a warning message appears and asks you to confirm if you want to continue. Click No to cancel the expand.

A structure is considered as large if it has at least:

  • 20 000 leaves
  • 100 000 occurrences
  • 50 000 objects

Expand N Levels
Expands the selected levels of the tree.
Collapse All
Collapses all levels of the tree below the selected node.

Flyout for Inserting New Objects

These commands allow you to insert new objects inside the structure.

Insert New Product
Creates a new product and adds it as a child to the selected objects.
Insert New Part
Creates a new part and adds it as a child to the selected objects.
Insert New Drawing
Creates a new drawing and adds it as a child to the selected objects.

Flyout for Replacing Objects

These commands allows you to replace objects in the structure.

Replace by Existing
Replaces an object by an existing object of the same type.
Replace by Latest Revision
Replaces one or more selected objects in the structure with the latest revision of the object, if one exists.
Replace by Revision
Updates the selected products of a structure with an existing revision (not available for representations).
Update Revision
Updates a structure with an existing revision of its products (not available for representations).

Flyout for Variant/Option Commands

Edit Variants and Options Effectivity
Adds or edits the variants and options effectivity for an object in the structure.
Opens the Define Variant/Option dialog box for the object so that you can add or edit variants and options to define the variants and options effectivity expression.

Copy Variant/Option Effectivity
Copies variant/option effectivity.
Copies the variant/option effectivity of an object so that you can paste it to another object in the structure.

Paste Variant/Option Effectivity
Pastes variant/option effectivity.
Pastes the copied variant/option effectivity of one object on another object in the structure.

Flyout for Evolution Effectivity Commands

Edit Evolution Effectivity
Adds or edits the model version revisions that define evolution effectivity for an object in the structure.
Opens the Edit Evolution dialog box for the object so that you can select which model version revisions define the object's evolution effectivity.

Copy Evolution Effectivity
Copies the evolution effectivity to the clipboard.
Paste Evolution Effectivity
Pastes the evolution effectivity to the clipboard.

Contextual Commands on Column Headers

Pin Column
  • Pin Left: pins the column on the left side of the divider.
  • Pin Right: pins the column on the right side of the divider.
  • No Pin: stays in the middle area with the scroll bar.

Note: On the right and left fixed areas, this command is not available.

Size Column to Fit
Adjusts the width of the column to the maximum size of its content.
Size All Columns to Fit
Adjusts the width of all the columns to the maximum size of its content.
Hide Column
Hides the column from the Tree view.
Clear Sort
Resets the sorting for the selected column.
Tree List View Options

Runs the Tree List View Options command.

Show Related / Hide Related

Displays or hides the Relations node in the Tree view.

Note: This command is available when you right-click the Title column only.

Manage Relations
Lets you select the type of relations you want to display.

Note: This command is available when you right-click the Has Related Objects column only.

Select Format

Select a derived format from the list to recompute the column value for the specific derived format.

Note: This command is available when you right-click the Derived Output Status column only.
