Requirements Structure Editor Interaction with Systems Traceability Dashboarding

The Requirements Specification Editor can be configured to subscribe to Systems Traceability Dashboarding selection events so that the widgets share traceability link information in real time.

When working within a scope in Systems Traceability Dashboarding, you can add the current scope to a Systems Traceability Dashboarding context. All open Requirements Specification Editor widgets are aware of any scopes created after they are opened in the dashboard. Only the last scope added in any Systems Traceability Dashboarding instance open in the dashboard is available to the Requirements Specification Editor. If the last scope added in any Systems Traceability Dashboarding is removed, no scope is available to the Requirements Specification Editor.

You can create a traceability link between requirements in the open Requirements Specification Editor instances (even if they are in different tabs). If the scope in context in Systems Traceability Dashboarding is relevant to the requirement specifications opened in the Requirements Specification Editor, the traceability links are automatically created according to the scope information. If the scope is irrelevant, if there is no scope, or if the information was not shared among the widgets, a dialog box allows you to define the direction of the traceability link in the Requirements Specification Editor.

When Requirements Specification Editor is open and Systems Traceability Dashboarding is open on the dashboard (even if they are in different tabs), once a traceability link is created in the Requirements Specification Editor, Systems Traceability Dashboarding displays the specification requirement percent coverage for a specific scope. The impact view shows the direction of the traceability links from one specification to the other to show what comprises the percent coverage. If the requirement specification is already loaded in the Requirements Structure Editor and the Subscribe to System Traceability selection events option is selected in the Preferences settings, when an object is selected in the impact view, the Requirements Specification Editor automatically scrolls to the selected content. The Traceability Scope is displayed in the requirement specification Identity Card in the Requirements Specification Editor.
