Customizing the Columns in the Requirements Structure Editor Structure Pane

You can customize the appearance of the columns in the Structure Pane by hiding or showing selected columns and by changing the column background, and text colors.


Before you begin: Load at least one requirement specification in the Requirements Structure Editor.

Configuring Preferences for the Requirements Structure Editor
  1. From the Tools menu, select Tree List View Options.
  2. Determine which columns that you want to display in the Requirements Structure Editor:

    Note: The Display Name column is always displayed and cannot be hidden.

    The following columns are displayed:

    • Display Name
    • Revision
    • Type
    • Covers
    • Refined Into
    • Parameter Value
    • State
    • Priority
    • Difficulty
    • Importance
    • Category
    • Classification
    • Reserve status
    • Responsible
    • Collaborative Space
    • Modification Date
    • Description
    • Is Last Version
    • Change Context
    • Effectivity
    • VariantEffectivity
    • CurrentEvolutionEffectivity (only available for users that are licensed for the Change Management option)
    • ProjectedEvolutionEffectivity (only available for users that are licensed for the Change Management option)

    Deselect the check box for any column that you do not want to display in the Requirements Structure Editor

    Note: Customized columns will be added after default column configuration in the structure editor view; irrespective of whether added from Tree List View command or ENOREQ.2D.json. You can reposition the column from the structure view drag on the column.

    Only custom attribute must be added in ENOREQ.2D.json. The administrator can manage order of the custom attribute display in DGV but he cannot change the order of the default column.

  3. Click Remove to remove the attribute/column from structure list and from attribute manager.
  4. Click More Attributes.

    The Select Types tab displays the supported types. You can select any type for which you want to manage attributes.

    By default, Requirement, Requirement specification, Comment and Chapter will be selected.

    The Select Extension tab displays the customer extensions, and non-automatic deployment extensions associated with selected types. For example, requirement specification, requirement, comment, chapter etc. You can select any extension along with type for which you want to manage attributes. Customer extensions and non-automatic deployment extensions will be listed in this tab.

    The Select Attributes tab displays attributes available for selected type including attributes added by the customer. Previously displayed attributes are selected by default.

    The Search box allows you to type the name of type/extension/attribute to the filter list.

    You can navigate between the tabs using Next. On the last tab, click Done to view the Attribute Management dialog box with the selected attributes.

  5. To use the customized columns in only the current instance of the Requirements Structure Editor in the dashboard, select Apply options only to this app.

    If you do not select Apply options only to this app, the customized columns are used in all instances of the Requirements Structure Editor in all tabs on the dashboard.

  6. Click Reset to reset the selection to default.
  7. Click Close.

The selected background and text color combinations are applied to the columns.
