Reordering Structures in the Requirements Structure Editor

You can drag and drop chapters, requirements, and comments to reorder the structure of the requirement specification. You can drag and drop child specification folders and requirement specifications to reorder the structure of a specification folder.


Before you begin: The specification folder or requirement specification must be opened in the Requirements Structure Editor.

  1. Click the object that you want to move to another location in the specification folder or requirement specification structure.

    Selected objects are highlighted in blue.

    Note: You can select multiple objects using Ctrl + click.

    If you select a specification folder, all of its child specification folders and requirement specifications are moved with it. If you select a requirement specification, all of its chapters, requirements, and comments are moved with it. If you select a chapter, all of its comments and requirements are moved with it. If you select a requirement with sub-requirements, all of its sub-requirements are moved with it.

  2. Drag the object to the new location in the specification folder or requirement specification structure, then drop it.

    Note: The nodes in the structure turn into dark blue lines to show you where you can move the selected object.

    The structure updates in the content pane to reflect the moved object's new location.
